VETERAN midfielder and captain Leo Kurauzvione has finally called it time on his professional football career according to his team, Golden Valley.
Kurauzvione has been turning out for Golden Valley where he was one of the key players for the past three seasons.
He was influential in Golden Valley’s promotion to the Northern Region Soccer League as well as their debut appearance last season in which the team earned a top three position.
However, Kurauzvione has communicated his plans to retire from football to the Golden Valley administration and has since asked coach Raphael ‘Rafa’ Phiri not to include him in plans for the 2017 season.
“Leo has surrendered. He said ‘my body can’t take it anymore’ so it’s unfortunate we will be without him this season.
“He said ‘mudhara handichazvikwanisa muviri wakurwadza’ so I will have to look to fill that position,” Phiri said.
Kurauzvione’s playing career saw him playing for the Warriors, Dynamos, Legia Warszawa in Poland, Shooting Stars, Zimbabwe Saints, Triangle and Golden Valley which appears to be his final destination.
Efforts to get hold of Kurauzvione were fruitless as his mobile wasn’t available.
