Mutuma for Mozambique

30 January 2017

OFFLOADED Dynamos striker Roderick Mutuma is set to join Clube Ferrroviaro da Beira in Mozambique.

The Glamour Boys offloaded Mutuma in a pre-season clean out exercise targeting old horses a fortnight ago.

Mutuma, who scored only three goals last season, was told by Lloyd Mutasa that he was not in his plans when DeMbare regrouped at Motor Action Sports Club.

However, Mutuma seems to have found a new home and he was on target on his debut match in which they won 3-0 as the Mozambican champions continue with CAF champions’ league preparations.

A well-placed source revealed that Mutuma was about to sign a deal under coach Aleixo Tomo.

“It appears he is on trials but everything is falling in place for him. The coach is interested in him. For now, it’s a verbal agreement and he will surely sign. They want a lethal striker ahead of the CAF champions’ league clash next month. He is doing well so far and they are convinced he might be the player they need ahead of African safari.”

The source also revealed that Mutuma was lured by a lucrative financial deal with the Beira-based side.

“The club is stable and they take care of their players. It’s a well sponsored club. It’s a better package when it comes to their foreign based players. Mutuma is still young and will surely need to work for his family. I understand financial gains also lured him to the club,” the source added.
