CAPS were better: Froger

TP Mazembe came, they saw and were conquered and their coach says CAPS United were a better team.

Mazembe coach, Thierry Froger, who has come under fire, says CAPS were a better team.

Despite coming hard in the second half, Froger says CAPS were tireless throughout the game and also in the first leg.

“In the first leg we had chances we thought we should have taken and also today we created chances but we failed to score.

“They were committed and in the end they are going through.

“They have played well and I must say the fact that we are out means they are better than us,” he said.

This happens to be Mazembe’s second early exit in a row meaning they will again play in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The coach denies the club has lost its status as a football powerhouse in Africa.

“TP Mazembe remains a big club despite this setback and it is thumbs up to CAPS United who have played well and best of luck to them,” he said.
