TWO women were nabbed on allegations of stabbing a 17- year-old girl with a knife on the head on suspicion she was dating one of the women’s husband.
Rumbidzai Chigombe, 24, and Netsai Fourpence, 30, pleaded not guilty when they appeared before Mbare magistrate Isabel Nyoni charged with assault.
The pair initially denied the allegation saying they did not attack her using a knife but only a cooking stick.
They, however, admitted to the charges during cross examination.
They are remanded out of custody to March 30 for judgment.
The State, represented by Richard Makondo, told the court that on February 11 at around 6pm, the girl received a text message from Chigombe’s husband inviting her to play a game of pool.
It was reported that Chigombe suspected the girl was having a love affair with her husband.
Chigombe proceeded to the girl’s place of residence and assaulted her using a cooking stick.
In that fit of rage, Netsai is alleged to have stabbed the girl on her head and she sustained some cuts.
She was medically examined.
