DYNAMOS captain Ocean Mushure believes they can start a charge for the title if they can play as a team against FC Platinum at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The fixtures did little favours for the beleaguered former champions with a season opener against last season’s runners up.
Mushure, who is one of the most senior members of the current crop, believes unity in the team will help overcome FC Platinum.
“We are confident and ready but all we need is to play as a team and I’m sure we can win.
“I’m sure the boys are waiting to start the season so I have no doubt in the squad we have,” he said.
Mushure also says the younger members of the team have grown well into the squad though it took time in pre-season.
“They are ok now, they had time to play in friendlies, it was difficult at the start but they are ready now so I believe they will rise to the expectations,” he said.
A number of players have left the Harare Giants, some were released, and some did not sign back up and recently with the season opener in sight, more left.
The team will be without defensive rock Elisha Muroiwa and midfielder Wisdom Mutasa for long as the pair signed for Tanzanian outfit Singida, but they are available for the beginning of the season.
Mushure believes there is no way that arrangement can destabilize the morale in the team and the target is to hit the ground running.
“All I can say is we are focused on winning the league which is expected of us, who left or who is with us does not really matter.
“The target for us starting the league is to win as many games as possible and hopefully win the league.
“Our fans must come support the team, I know we can do this,” he said.
