Premiership debutants Yadah FC held Harare City in a season opener to a goalless draw at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.
City who have said they are chasing a debut league crown were fancied but found the visitors not an easy ride.
Yadah FC coach Jairos Tapera said the result is a morale booster ahead of next fixtures.
“It’s a morale booster. It shows that we can compete with any team and I am happy that my guys played well as a team,” said Tapera.
City coach Mike Madzivanyika said there is still a lot of work to be done.
Though he credits Yadah for giving them a good run, he said his side needs to work hard.
“We’ve played well but we need to work on a number of factors. There is still a lot of work to be done. Our opponents were also good, ” he said.
