DENVER Mukamba might have shown promise at some stage this season, but the reality is he needs serious help if he is ever to be the player he was in 2012.
Mukamba was left out of the squad that faced CAPS United in a Harare derby over disciplinary issues.
Now he will only bounce back into the team as DeMbare are required to assemble exactly the same team that played Chapungu in the abandoned match when they were leading 4-0.
The match will resume in the 56th minute.
Mukamba had already scored a goal in that game along with Ntouba Epoupa and Emmanuel Mandiranga (brace).
This week coach Mutasa could not give much on their decision to drop Denver, only highlighting that he will bounce back on Thursday.
“We have to forget about the derby defeat and look forward to the next challenge. We have to be at our best. Yes, Denver will be in that game as well. He is not injured,” Mutasa said.
However, a source close to H-Metro said the former Soccer Star of the Year has stretched the coaches’ patience to the limit.
“It was all because of indiscipline that he was left out. The coaches are not happy and they want him to change his ways. They are doing well as a team right now and what the coach least wants is disruption from someone considered to be a senior player.
“But because the rules demand that he should be in the team against Chapungu, he will bounce back. Otherwise there was no guarantee that he was to be part of the first team. Besides, his form in the last game that he played was disappointing.”
In the absence of Mukamba, Quality Kangadze played as a second striker while Tawanda Macheke was the target man.
DeMbare missed Ntouba, Mukamba, Lincoln Zvasiya and Tichaona Chipunza. Those notable names meant that they had to leave Rufaro with tails between legs after a 1-0 defeat to CAPS United, a match Makepekepe was totally dominant.
