SUNDAY Chidzambwa have been given another chance to take charge of the Warriors at CECAFA.
Zifa announced the decision Monday afternoon saying the experienced coach will be in charge on a caretaker basis.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association advises the football family and the nation at large that it has appointed Sunday Chidzambwa as the caretaker senior national team coach, exclusively for the upcoming CECAFA tournament,” said Zifa in a statement.
“Zimbabwe accepted the invitation to play as a guest nation at the 2017 edition of the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations tournament to be played in Kenya.”
The Warriors will be in East Africa for the tournament which starts on 25 November to 9 December.
“Chidzambwa has vast experience as a national team coach, having earned Zimbabwe her first appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in 2004.
“The veteran coach has also enjoyed considerable success in the region, winning this year’s COSAFA Castle Cup hosted by South Africa in July.
“Affectionately known as ‘Mhofu’, Chidzambwa is currently the head coach of ZPC Kariba Football Club, a Premier Soccer League club.”
