FORMER Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa says the opportunity to associate with Barcelona legends is a once in a lifetime experience.
The Dynamos legend was part of the Zimbabwe former players select side that faced Barcelona Legends at National Sports Stadium yesterday.
The match ended 2-2.
Patrick Kluivert scored a brace while the Warriors legends equalised through Zenzo Moyo and Edward Sadomba.
Pasuwa praised the Ministry and Zifa for coming up with such an initiative, saying the experience will help former players who are now coaches.
“This match is a very good step towards the development of football in this country.
“Yes it was a once in a life time form of entertainment, but to us former footballers, it was a very good opportunity to create relationships that will take us very far in terms of upgrading our football careers.
“Most of these Barcelona players are coaches in their respective countries and to have time with them gave us an opportunity to share ideas and learn from them,” he said.
Pasuwa is one of the most highly rated coaches in Zimbabwe, having won four titles with Dynamos, taken the Under 23 to the Africa Games finals and inspired the Warriors to the 2017 AFCON finals.
The decorated coach said Zifa must also adopt the idea of making sure that active players are exposed to such platforms.
“This should happen not only to legends but to the current national team. Instead of playing friendlies with teams like Lesotho or Namibia, why not take them to the Spanish league? They will learn new things and good football,” said Pasuwa.
