AFTER almost a year of entertaining Europe, Austria-based singers Nkwali and Vusa Mkhaya want to bring that flavour to Bulawayo, the city where it all began.
Vusa Mkhaya, who is part of the Insingizi imbube group and Nkwali, an Iyasa founding member, will hold the show at the Bulawayo Theatre on January 6.
Dubbed ‘From Bulawayo To The World’, the show is meant to celebrate music from the city.
Both artistes have an array of songs that will keep fans entertained at the show pegged at $10. Nkwali will be showcasing songs from her yet to be named album, one of which is Kwanele while Vusa Mkhaya will perform tracks from his latest album Manyanyatha.
On the night, the duo will be supported by a band that comprises Mthabisi Moyo on electric guitar, Mangoma Moyo on percussion, Reaz Beats who plays for Cassper Nyovest, Lungile on drums and JJ on the keyboard.
Organiser of the show, Cde Phil, said: “The show is about celebrating music from the city, made by its people and has been taken to the world. Bulawayo music is going international and no stone is being left unturned in the quest to make it happen.”
He said they hoped the show will be held annually so that fans get treated to world class performances after the festive season.
