HARARE – Zimbabwe A are now on course for a limited over series whitewash win over Kenya after winning the third match by seven wickets at Mutare Sports Club yesterday.
The hosts won the first match at the same venue by six wickets at the end of last month before sealing another 110 run win by Duckworth Lewis method on Wednesday.
Zimbabwe has already sealed the four-match series with only one match left to be held at the same venue in Manicaland tomorrow.
In yesterday’s match, Zimbabwe A captain Prince Masvaure won the toss and elected to field first before bowling out the tourists 145 all out.
Opener Alex Obanda top scored for Kenya with 39 from 52 deliveries while veteran batsman Collins Obuya reached 24.
Seamer Brandon Mavuta was the pick of the Zimbabwe bowlers with figures of 3-31 from his 10 overs.
Tino Mutombodzi and Chris Mpofu also picked up two wickets apiece while Donald Tiripano and Richard Ngarava claimed one wicket each.
It was always going to be difficult for Kenya to defend such a small total and Zimbabwe reached the target after the loss of just three wickets.
Opener Cephas Zhuwao continued with his good form in this series when he top scored for the hosts with a blistering 46 runs from 20 deliveries.
His fellow opener Chamu Chibhabha was given out for distracting the field after scoring only six runs.
Tarisai Musakanda and Ryan Murray helped Zimbabwe A cross the finishing line when they closed out the innings with 46 and 40 respectively.
