Bulawayo man strangled to death after offering lift to killer

BULAWAYO – A 50-year-old Bulawayo man suffered a painful death on Tuesday after being strangled by a hitchhiker who used the victim’s own car seat belt to commit the crime.

The shock incident, according to police on Wednesday, happened along Randun road, Upper Rangemore, Bulawayo.

Police said the now deceased Albert Tsuma, who was driving with his son in a Honda CRV, offered a lift to the suspect who went on to pull out a firearm and ordered him to drive behind an unregistered BMW which was in front of them.

“The suspect strangled the victim with a s-+eat belt after the vehicle had run out fuel and he drove off in a BMW vehicle,” police said via their official X handle.

“Subsequently, the victim passed away and his body was conveyed to Bulawayo Hospital for post mortem.”

Police appealed to anyone with information on the incident to volunteer such leads at any of their nearest police Stations.
