HARARE – Ngezi Platinum have been ordered by FIFA to pay former coach Benjani Mwaruwari US$600,000 for unfair dismissal.
Mwaruwari’s former assistant Bongani Mafu was awarded US$200,000 last year, but the club appealed and the matter is pending.
Ngezi sacked Mwaruwari in July 2022 after 13 games, of which three were wins, six draws and four defeats.
Mwaruwari did not take his sacking lying down as he petitioned a FIFA tribunal.
FIFA announced its decision this week which has been communicated to both Mwaruwari and Ngezi.
