BOSSO RELOAD . . . SNAP UP FIVE AS MBEBA TOWERS ON

Bosso are moving fast ahead of the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season, unveiling five new signings while keeping star defender Andrew Mbeba firmly in the Black and White ranks.

The Bosso transfer window has been buzzing, with players and coaches reshuffling ahead of the new season. Highlanders confirmed the arrivals of former Chicken Inn goalkeeper Pride Zendera, Mongameli Tshuma, Tawanda Shenje from Hwange, Royn Nyamono from Bikita Minerals, and Rayton Chuma from the National University of Science and Technology (Nust).

Zendera, who spent last season sidelined after losing his goalkeeping spot to Aaron “Arusha” Ngwenya, has now returned to Bosso to challenge for the number one jersey. Fans are excited to see if the experienced custodian can restore stability at the back.

While Bosso have added firepower, the club has also lost key players. Melikhaya Ncube has joined ambitious Bulawayo Chiefs, Mason Mushore moved to South Africa’s Premier League side AmaZulu, and Mackinnon Mushore, who was loaned to Simba Bhora mid-last season, has now joined FC Platinum on a permanent deal following the expiry of his Bosso contract on 31 December.

FC Platinum have not been idle themselves, securing Takunda Manyuchi and Tadiwa Murasiranwa from relegated Bikita Minerals. The Pure Platinum side has also strengthened with David Mangezi, Garikai Dematsika, Tadiwa Muchenje, and Takunda Vereta. Their foreign recruits include Malawian international Maxwell Paipi, Namibian Tjahikika Mbakondja, Ghanaian Emmanuel Dogbey, and Cameroonian goalkeeper Ekoi Manfred.

The club has also revamped its technical staff with Warren Mapanga as goalkeepers coach, Dillion Chivandire taking charge of strength and conditioning, and Ashley Ndebele joining as head performance analyst and set-pieces coach.

Bulawayo Chiefs have also been busy, beating Bosso to the signatures of Elvis Moyo, formerly of league champions Scottland FC, and Brian Muza, previously at Chicken Inn.

Amid all the transfer drama, Highlanders achieved a major coup by retaining defender Andrew Mbeba.

The utility player, who was heavily linked with a move to FC Platinum, has signed a new contract with Bosso that keeps him at the club until December. Mbeba was Highlanders’ best performer last season and earned a spot among the Soccer Stars of the Year for 2025. Nigerian striker Benjamin Oluwarotimi Adeogun, who was on loan from Gwanda Pirates, has reportedly also signed permanently with Bosso.

Chicken Inn, now led by new technical head Tonderai Ndiraya, have strengthened with Lynoth Chikuhwa on a permanent deal from Scottland FC. Chikuhwa had been loaned to Chicken Inn mid-last season after a challenging first six months at Mabviravira. Seasoned goalkeeper Tymon Mvula has reunited with Ndiraya after stints at Scottland and Yadah Stars, bringing experience and leadership to the squad.

New PSL side Hardrock FC have unveiled Oncemore Uriri from the Central Region Soccer League’s Grain Tigers. He joins Edward Musena (Chicken Inn), Prince “Teaspoon” Gwetu (Gwanda Pirates), Nigel Matinha (MWOS FC), and Shelton Sibanda (Kwekwe United).

Soccer Star of the Year Washington Navaya may also join Hardrock if a move to South Africa does not materialise.

Elsewhere, ex-Warriors striker Evans Rusike has moved to Botswana top-flight side Mochudi Centre Chiefs from Yadah Stars. CAPS United have signed Malawian international Lloyd Njaliwa on a two-year deal after three years at Costa do Sol in Mozambique. The club is also eyeing another Malawian striker, Uchizi Vunga, with negotiations reportedly underway with Silver Strikers.

Ngezi Platinum Stars have overhauled their technical team with young coach Clifford Dzvairo joining former PSL champions as assistant to Kumbirai Mutiwekuziwa. Dzvairo, 27, comes with a growing reputation after guiding Hunters FC to the 2025 Eastern Region Soccer League title and securing promotion to the Premier Soccer League.

With Bosso snapping up new faces, keeping Mbeba, and rival clubs strengthening their squads, the 2026 PSL season promises drama, fireworks, and plenty of action for Bulawayo fans.
