ACZ begins work on new runway, cargo terminal at RGM Airport

HARARE – The Airports Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ) has announced the start of a major expansion project at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, including a secondary runway, a cargo terminal and supporting facilities.

In a public notice, ACZ said the new development “will occupy all land in the restricted Red Zone of the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.”

The company has invited those with property affected by the project to engage its officials for compensation discussions.

“All affected land owners/occupiers are requested to visit ACZ… within 30 days of gazetting this notice for discussions on compensation,” it said.

The development, according to the notice, is expected to “serve as a vital catalyst for global trade and economic development, benefiting local, regional, and national levels.”
