Black Rhinos sack coach Maruwa for ‘tainting corporate image of club’

HARARE – Black Rhinos have sacked coach Hebert Maruwa after five years at the club.

The army side said Maruwa was terminated for “unbecoming behaviour during match days which had tainted the corporate image of the club and the organisation at large.”

The behaviour complained of includes the coach’s many incidents of remonstrating with match officials.

Club legend Stix Mtizwa, who was the assistant coach, has been promoted to head coach.

Rhinos face Cranborne Bullets at Vengere on Saturday.

The club sits eighth in the Premier Soccer League table with 31 points after 22 matches – 16 adrift of runaway leaders FC Platinum.
