HARARE – CAPS United on Friday unveiled Takesure Chiragwi as their new head coach, turning the page after a bruising campaign that ended in a lowly ninth.
Chiragwi arrives from Ngezi Platinum, where he endured a turbulent final season — including a PSL suspension and fine for slapping one of his own players.
At CAPS, he will work alongside Ian Bakala, credited with steering the club away from relegation trouble last season.
A former left back for United, Chiragwi is bringing much of his trusted backroom staff with him from Ngezi. Former Warriors midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha has been appointed team manager, while Cloudious Gundudza takes over as goalkeepers’ coach. Performance analysts Garry Muchakata and John Vera also make the switch.
Chiragwi’s move has triggered a broader exodus from Ngezi Platinum, with several players following him to Harare.
Defenders Nyasha Gurende and Kudzwai Chigwida, midfielders Richard Hachiro, Talent Chamboko and Macdonald Makuwe, and strikers Delic Murimba and Obriel Chirinda have all signed for CAPS United.
