HARARE – Ambitious Premier League newcomers HardRock have named Kelvin Kaindu as their new coach, as the Zambian leaves Dynamos after a herculean effort to keep them in the top flight.
He has signed a two-year contract with the Kwekwe-based side.
Kaindu said he was “honoured to be joining HardRock at such a pivotal moment for the club,” adding: “This club has shown ambition, unity, potential and I am ready to contribute to its continued rise.”
Club chairman Shepherd Chahwanda said he had “full confidence” in Kaindu, who was released by Highlanders midseason last year before he re-emerged at Dynamos.
Kaindu said his decision to leave Dynamos was “not an easy one.”
“Personally, I see Dynamos as my home. The main objective set was to survive relegation, which we managed to achieve, and the Chibuku Super Cup victory was the icing on the cake,” he reflected.
“I know I probably have disappointed a lot of people, but this wasn’t an easy decision for me to make. This is a difficult moment for me, knowing that I’m not staying at Dynamos, but I believe that I’ve created a working relationship that leaves the door open for the future.”
