WHITE is the colour of peace.
Thousands of members of Johanne Masowe yeChishanu turned Seke Road into a sea of white in a powerful symbolic transformation of colours on a highway where a lot of blood has been spilled in deadly road accidents.
Led by Apostles and Zion churches national chairperson, Madzibaba Moses Gwasarira, and provincial chairperson, Madzibaba Owen Chingondi, the white garment community appealed to motorists to respect the sanctity of life.
Ahead of yesterday’s ceremony, Madzibaba Owen Chingondi of the Velvet shrine in Chitungwiza took some church leaders for prayers in a helicopter.
Madzibaba Owen told H-Metro that the helicopter flight was meant to prepare for yesterday’s mega event.
After spending some minutes in the air, where they were praying, Madzibaba Owen landed at his shrine.
“On Friday we took some prophets and elders into the sky for prayers while others were on the ground and this was the starting point for the big Sunday prayers along Seke Road.
“When you see us flying we are not doing it in vain but for spiritual work assigned to us.
“Where there is a vision, there is provision, we are conquerors, we strongly believe in our living and loving God who speaks to us and answer our prayers.”
Madzibaba Moses, who led the prayers yesterday, said:
“Motorists must respect the sanctity of life, respect other drivers knowing that people matter most before God.
“It is our wish to see reckless drivers being given deterrent sentences for others to take heed.
“We cannot continue to see people’s blood on our roads because of drivers who do not care about the very people who give them the business.
“Let it be known to all drivers that it starts with you to be cautious on the road all the time.”
Madzibaba Owen said:
“Prayers are important in national healing, among other things. Mwari anonzwa minamato yevana vake kana vachinge vadana kwaari ndosaka taungana.
“We are urging people to turn to God and be part of the family as worshippers not only for national healing but personal and family deliverance.
“Some drivers need spiritual deliverance, we want to warn driverswho violate road rules and regulations basing on prayers.
“Ngatirege kuyedza Mwari nekutyora mirairo yemumigwagwa vachiti kwanamatwa.”
