President in Bulawayo for Competitiveness Summit, National Youth Day Commemorations
President Mnangagwa has arrived at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo to kick off a packed two-day programme, culminating in the National Youth Day Commemorations scheduled to take place on Friday at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre.
He was met at the airport by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Bulawayo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Judith Ncube, Energy and Power Development Minister July Moyo, Zanu-PF Bulawayo province chairperson Cde Jabulani Sibanda, politburo member Elifasi Mashaba and service chiefs.
As part of his busy itinerary, the President will today attend the inaugural National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) Summit that kicked off at the ZIEC yesterday.
Tomorrow President Mnangagwa will interact with thousands of youths from across the country.
Youths from various tertiary institutions will get an opportunity to showcase their innovative brilliance.
The commemorations will run under the theme: ‘Empower Youth, Secure the Future’.
Edgars new plant to boost competitiveness
Before launching the summit, President Mnangagwa will tour and commission the new Edgars Stores Carousel Clothing Manufacturing plant in the citys industrial area.
The new plant is expected to significantly increase the companys manufacturing output, thereby enhancing its competitiveness.
President Mnangagwa is expected to officiate at the National Competitive Commission (NCC) summit at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo today.
