HARARE – One of Zimbabwe’s leading economists John Robertson has died.
He was 85.
Robinson died on Sunday morning at his home in Harare after suffering a stroke several weeks ago, his family said.
Bulawayo-born Robertson trained at the Technical College and later became a technician with the Rhodesian Air Force, specialising in radio communications
As a mature student, he enrolled at the University of Rhodesia and obtained an honours degree in economics from London University.
Robertson wrote columns for several local and international newspapers, anchoring his opinions on substantial research and statistics.
He is survived by two sons. – NewsDay
