Treasury has released funds for the procurement of stationery required for the production of civil registry documents, following intermittent shortages that have lately affected the Civil Registry Department capacity to produce documents such as birth and death certificates.
In a statement this Tuesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage confirmed that the department had received funds to ameliorate the situation.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage wishes to sincerely apologise to the public for intermittent challenges currently being experienced at some of our provincial, district and sub-registry offices regarding the issuance of civil registry documents.
“This is on account of the shortage of required stationery,” the Ministry said.
“Treasury has released some funds for the procurement of the required stationery and other goods and services. The Ministry remains committed to the restoration of normal service to the public.”
