ZANU PF Matabeleland South leadership has rolled out inter district meetings across various constituencies in the province as part of efforts to strengthen the party at grassroots level.

An inter district meeting was held in Gwanda South on Saturday followed by Bulilima on Sunday followed by Motobo, Insiza North and Insiza South during the course of the month. The inter district meetings will continue in other constituencies next month. During the meetings the provincial party leadership is interacting with leadership at grassroots level.

The meetings seek to capture grievances of party members within each constituency, identify existing gaps and to identify strategies that can be taken to strengthen the party.

Speaking during an inter district meeting in Gwanda South Constituency held at Manama area on Saturday Zanu PF Matabeleland South Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mangaliso Ndlovu, said the party at provincial level will not be strong if districts and constituencies are weak.

He said there is need for the party to retain its position of a clean sweep in Matabeleland Province in the next elections.
Cde Ndlovu said Zanu- PF legislators in the province were struggling to roll out development initiatives in wards which have opposition councilors but were facing resistance.

Cde Ndlovu said there are some constituencies which were once regarded as Zanu PF strongholds but are now lagging behind.

He said the meetings are also a platform to reflect on how the local party leadership has performed over the past two years after the elections in 2023. He said feedback from the grassroots level is crucial in developing the party and strengthening it for the future. He said the ultimate goal is to work on unifying the party from grassroots level to ensure growth and victory.
