LIMPOPO, South Africa – Five passengers died while several were injured when a Zimbabwe bound Tamuka Luxury bus they were travelling in was involved in a road accident in South Africa’s Mokopane town, Limpopo province on Sunday evening.
The cross-border bus which was travelling from Johannesburg overturned on the N1 north towards the Nyl Plaza outside Mokopane around 5.30PM on Sunday.
Among the dead were four men and one woman, reports said, adding that many passengers sustained injuries of varying degrees and were transported to hospitals in Mokopane for treatment.
The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety confirmed the accident.
The incident comes just five days after 10 people were killed with several injured when a Mzansi Express bus that was travelling from Zimbabwe to Johannesburg was involved in a road accident near Polokwane, South Africa just before midnight on Tuesday.
