ZINARA hikes toll fees

HARARE – The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) has reviewed upwards, the Zim-dollar component of road toll fees in line with the increase in the foreign currency auction rate.

In a statement Tuesday, Zinara said the US dollar toll fee package remains unchanged.

The new fees are with effect from Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

Read the statement: “We would like to advise our customers that with effect from 3 August 2022, the following ZWL toll fees will apply in terms of Section 4 of Statutory Instrument 32 of 2021…”

According to the statement, light motor vehicles will now be required to pay ZWL860, up from ZWL520 which was being paid since May this year. The alternative charge remains US$2 in foreign currency.

Minibuses will now pay $1 290, up from $780. The alternative US dollar charge of US$3 remains unchanged.

Buses will now pay $1 720, up from $1 040 with the foreign currency alternative of US$4 still intact.

Heavy vehicles will now pay $2 150, up from $1 300, while the foreign currency rate of US$5 remains.

Zinara also raised fees for haulage trucks from $2 600 to $4 300 with the alternative US$10 remaining unchanged.

Residential discount per term was raised from $10 400 to $17 200 with the US dollar component of US$40 remaining unchanged.

Motorcycles are exempted from paying any fees.
