5 hookers robbed man of phone and US$600 cash, court hears

HARARE – Five sex workers appeared in court on Wednesday accused of robbing a client of US$600 and a mobile phone.

Aisha Marira, Manford Ngomo, Belinda Zuze, Rutendo Chivhuta and Natasha Moyo were not asked to plead when they briefly appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi, who remanded them in custody for their bail hearing on Thursday.

The alleged victim, Stanford Madyara, told police that on October 10 she approached Marira and they agreed to have sex for US$10.

The pair allegedly went into a house in the Avenues area of Harare where Madyara laid his eyes on Natasha, prompting him to change his mind.

The court heard that while Madyara was romping with Natasha, Marira started shouting that he had “messed” her sheets and demanded payment.

When Madyara refused to pay, the five women allegedly ganged up and grabbed him while others foraged through his pockets. They forcibly took away his Samsung Galaxy M13 mobile phone and US$600 cash, the prosecution charges.

The National Prosecuting Authority alleges that Zuze was found still in possession of Madyara’s phone after he called the police.
