7 killed, 8 injured in three-vehicle collision near Dzivarasekwa

HARARE – Seven early morning commuters were killed on Wednesday in a three-vehicle collision near Dzivarasekwa in Harare, police said.

National police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the collision at the intersection of Bulawayo Road and Dzivarasekwa turn-off near Thuli Service Station was between a Toyota Hiace kombi, a haulage truck and UD 70 truck.

“Seven people were killed while eight others were injured. It is alleged that the kombi driver failed to give way at the traffic lights controlled junction resulting in the accident,” Nyathi said.
