MUTARE – Former Zimparks regional manager for the Eastern Highlands, Luke Njiva has been arrested by officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on allegations of criminal abuse of duty.
In a Wednesday statement, ZACC confirmed the arrest of Njiva on allegations of tipping the Director of Mo Fair Investments, Mike Chinheva, on how to successfully draft his bid for a home construction contract that was being offered by Zimparks.
“The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested former Zimparks Regional Manager for the Eastern Highlands, Luke Njiva on allegations of criminal abuse of duty.
“Njiva allegedly showed favour to Mike Chinheva, the Director of Mo Fair Investments by disclosing a project budget of US$20,000 for the construction of a house for Zimparks.
“He is accused of directing Chinheva to alter his quotation from US$27,383 to US$19,500 in order to fit within the project budget,” read the ZACC statement.
Njiva appeared at the Mutare Provincial Anti-Corruption court on Wednesday and was remanded out of custody on US$100 bail.
