Chief Nhlamba granted state assisted funeral

THE late Chief Nhlamba of Gwanda who died over the weekend has been granted a state assisted burial with Vice-President Dr Constantino Chiwenga set to officiate at the event, which has been set for Saturday.

Chief Secretary to the Office of the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, confirmed the development in a statement.

“Chief Dennis Ndlovu Nhlamba of Garanyemba area is Gwanda who passed on at the United Bulawayo Hospitals on Saturday has been granted a state assisted funeral.

“Vice President Dr CGDN Chiwenga will represent the President at the funeral of the late chief,” said Dr Sibanda

Chief Nhlamba died after a long illness.

Born Dennis Ndlovu, he was installed Chief Nhlamba on July 16, 2010, and had served the traditional leadership institution for 12 years.

The chief, who was one the senior traditional leaders in the province, died at the age of 75.  [email protected]
