Levels released on bail as NPA drops rape, physical abuse charges

HARARE – Zimdancehall music producer Tafadzwa Kadzimwe, accused of raping his girlfriend Ashley Moyo before leaking their nude pictures was released on ZW$20,000 bail on Tuesday.

Kadzime, who works at record label Chillspot, was reported for rape, physical abuse and leaking a sex tape by Moyo, the daughter of former health minister Obadiah Moyo.

But when the record producer appeared before Harare magistrate Kudzai Zihove, prosecutor Pardon Dziva read out a single charge of violating the Data Protection Act relating to the leaked nudes.

The two charges of physical abuse and rape were referred back to the police amid reports that Moyo, who is popularly known as Shashl, wants to withdraw the accusations.

The National Prosecuting Authority did not oppose bail.

Levels pleaded not guilty to the charge before the matter was postponed to December 20.

The prosecution said they are yet to obtain a warrant of search and seizure for Levels’ mobile phone allegedly used to record the leaked sex tape.
