Manyame Rural District Council (RDC) has completed construction of an Early Childhood Education block at Seke Materera Primary School, as the local authority continues to prioritise infrastructure development in Seke district.

The two-classroom block was commissioned this morning by Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Advocate Itayi Ndudzo.

The development brings the number of classrooms dedicated to ECD learners at the primary school to four, as the enrolment for early childhood learners continues to rise.

The school has more than 200 ECD learners. Advocate Ndudzo commended Manyame RDC for channelling funds towards infrastructure development aimed at improving education delivery at the school.

He also applauded the community for their contribution towards the establishment of the block, with two classrooms.

“I want to applaud the community for working hard to ensure this project was a success,” he said.

“Let me also thank the Manyame Rural District Council for their contribution to ensure the block is completed.

“To learners, I want to challenge you to utilise the infrastructure and acquire education. Make the most of your life.

“You can become whatever you want to be in life, so work hard, nothing is impossible. All your dreams can become a reality if you are determined. I also urge you to stay away from illicit drug and substances.”

Advocate Ndudzo also called on parents to guide their children and encourage them to stay away from peers who lead them astray.
