Zanu PF political activist Jim Kunaka was denied bail when he appeared on Friday at the Harare Magistrates Courts over charges of inciting public violence after taking part in a demonstration called for by former ruling party central committee member, Blessed “Bombshell” Geza.

Kunaka appeared before provincial magistrate Ruth Moyo, who ruled that the accused should remain in custody and that he was not a good candidate for bail as some of his alleged accomplices were still on the run.

He was remanded in custody to December 4 for routine remand.

According to the State, Kunaka and his alleged accomplices, already on remand and others still at large, allegedly conspired to incite the public to participate in an unlawful gathering.

The gathering, dubbed the “One Million Men March”, was reportedly organised by Geza to protest against President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The march was scheduled for October 17, 2025, at Robert Gabriel Mugabe Square in Harare and another location in Mutare.

The organisers accused the President of corruption, looting, enabling criminal activities and undermining the national constitution.

The court heard that Kunaka and his accomplices allegedly printed and distributed thousands of flyers promoting the march.

The flyers bore messages such as “STOP THE LOOTING – ZIMBABWE IS NOT FOR SALE” and “FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17, 8AM – ROBERT MUGABE SQUARE”.

Flyers were distributed across various locations in Harare, including the central business district, Machipisa Shopping Centre, Mashwede Service Station, Tichagarika shops in Glen View, and Budiriro 1 shops.

Police reportedly received a tip-off about flyers being distributed from a vehicle, which they intercepted, and arrested some of Kunaka’s alleged accomplices.

Kunaka himself reportedly fled the scene.

Several of his alleged accomplices are currently on remand.
